The year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine changed the world’s attitude towards our country. Humanity discovered Ukraine as a developed European state. David Stulik, a senior political analyst at the European Security Policy Centre in Prague, shared with the Newssky how the attitude towards Ukraine, the EU, NATO, and Russia has changed.

I knew that Ukraine, the Ukrainians, would fight and that you have great devotion to the ideas of freedom and such of the European future, and here Ukraine definitely lived up to expectations.

Regarding NATO, the EU, first of all, I am very positively surprised by the way the EU reacted to its standards incredibly quickly, incredibly creatively. It really behaves like a geopolitical player.

Regarding NATO, there are certain such disappointments, because NATO was not very actively involved at first. There were constant excuses of the type that NATO will defend its territory, every scrap, every square centimetre, and Ukraine will not participate in any wider affairs, because there was a fear of escalation and conflict with Russia.

Well, of course, the perception about Russia has not changed either, it has been confirmed once again that Russia, the Russians, are to some extent a sick nation, a sick state that dreams of revenge, that dreams of imperialism, its own chauvinism. In this regard, Russia, unfortunately, didn’t surprise.

My attitude, therefore, hasn’t change and was only confirmed.
