The Pentacle of Happiness is released as freeware
03.07.2026
The Pentacle of Happiness, a psychological game developed by our columnist Denis Skorbilin, a developer of cognitive media and one of the key metamodernist thinkers, has been finally released out to the public. It’s currently available for free at happyfive.me and longs at making our dystopian world a little better.
The player has to maintain a balance between the different areas of life-being. In order to achieve that, each turn they choose one of the offered cards which somehow affect a person’s life, and accept the consequences of that choice. The game reflects the author’s life philosophy: a person can be happy only when they are able to express themselves in a nifty balance between both the outer and the inner worlds.

“The Pentacle of Happiness” was created with the help of AI; however, the author persuades that for him artificial intelligence is merely a tool in human hands. The game uses the author’s own text, code architecture, and mechanics. Dan’s also looking at replacing generated images with human-created arts.
At the moment the game is translated into six languages and features two difficulty modes. Future releases will add at least one more difficulty mode to the Pentacle of Happiness, in which the author promises tough trials and wild new mechanics.
He should try his best, shouldn’t he? J
