Apparently, Ukraine and the United States have supposedly reached an agreement on a ceasefire in the Ukrainian-Russian war. What do you think has Putin agreed to the demands, and what scenario is possible next? Lukasz Adamski, Deputy Director of the Mieroszewski Center in Warsaw, commented.

Lukasz Adamski referred to a conference organized by the Mieroszewski Center with the Polish Embassy in Kyiv. That event was dedicated to key aspects of military cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.

«We can defeat Russia,» emphasized Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland Pavel Zalewski, noting that in the event of an escalation of the conflict, Russia will not be able to win the war against the West. Minister Zalewski pointed out that Poland and the European Union must take greater responsibility for their security by strengthening the armed forces and defense industry.

A third panel of the conference included experts in foreign policy, security, and defense strategies: Lukasz Adamski, Agnieszka Legutska, Andriy Zagorodniuk, Robert Pszczel, and Oleksiy Melnyk.

Participants have been discussing the negotiations between Ukraine and the United States, which concerned Russia’s policy towards Ukraine, possible scenarios for ending the war, and a strategy for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Experts have noted that Russia perceives peace talks as a political tool, so both Ukraine and its allies should remain vigilant regarding Russian «peaceful» proposals. The membership in NATO for Ukraine remains a long-term goal, but developing bilateral agreements and mechanisms to deter Russia is important.

Minister Zalewski emphasized that Ukraine is setting an example of how to defend a country from Russia.

The most painful thing for each country is the loss of territories. Poland is convinced that Ukraine must preserve its territorial integrity. At the beginning of the war, there was a noticeable imbalance of forces between Ukraine and Russia, and Ukraine is admirable.

Of course, Ukraine has been tired of bloodshed for three years, and it wants this war to end more than anyone else. Simultaneously, Ukrainians are calm, confident, and determined. And this is what the entire European Union needs right now. Ukraine is showing us that cooperation with the alliance has created opportunities for self-defense. No one could even imagine something like that. And it is possible. Thanks to the mobilization of all Ukrainian resources, ingenuity, and patriotism: the enormous patriotism of Ukrainians — this is possible. Ukraine has shown that. We can defeat Russia, and the entire strategy of the West must be ready for a potential conflict that the West will win. The Western policy is a deterrent nature. The war is a horror, and the task of every politician is to ensure that there is no war. We must have the main idea — we can defeat Russia. In this case, if Russia decides to attack the West, we will defeat it.

As the experience of Hiroshima and Nagasaki shows, nuclear weapons are a good defense, not an offense. Russia is the attacking country, and Ukraine and potentially the West are the defending ones. Nuclear weapons have not worked as a means of coercion since the war in Japan.

And the proposal of France for a nuclear shield for Europe is revolutionary.
