Ukraine expects to receive a new batch of F-2025 fighter jets in 16. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, February 22, following a conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof.
"We are grateful to the Netherlands for all the assistance provided and the willingness to continue and increase support for Ukraine — this is important for the stability of all of Europe. We expect the continuation of the supply of F-16s this year. The sky over Ukraine must be closed and safe," the President of Ukraine wrote on the social network Kh.
According to Zelensky, the Netherlands shares the position of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine." "We are united by the understanding of the need to strengthen our military power as a guarantee of security for Ukraine and our entire Europe," the Ukrainian head of state also added.
Netherlands: Russia should not emerge victorious from this war
Dick Schoof, in turn, noted in a post on X that “Ukraine can continue to count on our military, financial, and political support.” He also added that Ukraine should enter any negotiations to end the war waged against it by Russia from “a position of maximum strength.”
"With the help of European sanctions, we continue to put pressure on Russia. A ceasefire without Ukraine and Europe at the negotiating table is not an option. For the sake of the future of Ukraine and Europe, Russia must not emerge victorious from this war," the Prime Minister said.
In early February, it was reported that the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received another batch of F-16s from the Netherlands. Ukraine began receiving such fighters from partners at the end of July 2024. According to media reports, the first six F-16s were delivered by the Netherlands, which had promised a total of 24 such aircraft.
