Germany's total aid to Ukraine will reach €7 billion this year

At a joint press conference in Kyiv on April 1, the head of state stated that the Ukrainian side is grateful to Germany "for significant assistance."
As Zelensky noted, Germany is the leader in Europe in terms of the amount of assistance provided to Ukraine.
The total amount of support from official Berlin already exceeds 43 billion euros, 15 billion of which were allocated for military needs, the President's Office said.
It is also indicated that Germany "has made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukrainian air defense: these are six IRIS-T systems, three Patriot systems, as well as Gepard anti-aircraft systems."
Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Bundestag for approving the decision to provide Ukraine with an additional 3 billion euros. The Office of the President noted that this will bring total support from Germany in 2025 to 7 billion euros.
What else did Zelensky discuss with Burbock?
During their meeting in Kyiv, the Ukrainian President and the German Foreign Minister also discussed the results of the leaders' meeting on supporting the Ukrainian side in Paris and "developing formats for security guarantees."
"Ukraine also counts on support from Germany on its path to EU membership, in particular regarding the earliest possible opening of the first negotiation cluster," the statement from the President's Office says.
In turn, Berbock noted that Germany "will continue to support Ukraine, which today protects the peace and security of all of Europe."
"We will stay with Ukraine as long as necessary. The German government will continue to support the achievement of a just peace and your membership in the EU," said the German Foreign Minister.
