After Russia's shocking and predictable vote in the UN Security Council, we were lucky enough to ask a few questions to the "star" of the past political season, Russia's representative in the UN Security Council, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vitaly Ivanovich Churkin. 

Vitaliy Ivanovich, you have just expressed the political will of Russia — you announced a veto on the UN Security Council resolution regarding the MH17 disaster investigation tribunal. What dictated such a decision by Moscow?

Because Russia is not judged by you. Not to you. For me and for the Russian government, for Vladimir Putin, Russia is above all else.

And what is he judging Russia for? Do you, of course, think that Russia is to blame for the death of flight MH17?

Just don't pretend to be innocent. Sometimes on the altar of high politics one has to make big sacrifices. For example, I was the secretary of the USSR embassy in the USA when the incident with the South Korean plane occurred. I had the honor to publicly defend the interests of the Soviet Motherland in the only correct way.

But it has been proven and recognized by Russia itself that the South Korean Boeing was shot down by a Soviet fighter...

They proved what was needed — it's always like that. And in advance, let them know that, like the USSR, Russia will definitely continue to shoot down any aircraft, military or civilian, that appear suspicious to us. Do you see how many provocations there are now against our aviation and fleet in the Baltics, the North Sea, and the Pacific Ocean? And we responded and will respond as we see fit. There is no need for spies and terrorists to be sent to us. Let them know.

Vitaliy Ivanovich, and who are these "they" - who "proved what is necessary" and who "let them know"?

You know, everyone knows this. I come from a simple family, my father is an engineer, my mother is a housewife, and the school was elite in Moscow, with in-depth study of the English language, that's how it turned out. Svanidze and Mytkova later graduated from this school. So the school principal was one of those, with eternal sadness in her almond-shaped eyes. She accused me, a 10th grader, of "careerism", they stabbed me with a gold medal. That's how we go through life - they and I. And all envy! It is not difficult to understand that today they are writing all kinds of filth against Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the authorities. One of them, Iosif Davydovich Kobzon, is normal - and this is how he was poisoned, brought to death without treatment! And here, what difference does it make, what exactly do they need? I am doing what is necessary — I am following Putin's orders, which means Russia.

But what is the harm in the tribunal if...

We have no such interest - a tribunal! This is a provocation against Vladimir Putin personally, it is clear to a child here, only everyone is pretending, including you. Suppose that the plane was shot down by a Russian missile from the territory of the DPR, but the operator of the complex was a CIA agent? Does America need such a tribunal, hypothetically?

But the USA just...

Yes, they just want to corner Russia in this way. They adjusted everything themselves, all tanks are planted in the Baltics. Well, they disembarked!

Okay, let the USA be insidious... but what about the Netherlands, Malaysia, Ukraine?

There is no Ukraine — it is a territory dependent on the United States. The Dutch, I think, are completely pissed off - they have hothouse conditions in Russia, but now let's start to understand objectively, what kind of finances, flowers, trade, equipment are they? And to close, cut off the oxygen - let them go home and arrange conspiracies there. They arranged dances on bones, what blasphemy! As for the Malays, they should behave more modestly - when our Saint Vladimir stormed Tsargrad, their ancestors were still peeling bark from palm trees.

Well, good, but there are authorities for you, let's say, some, after all, the president of the USA, the chancellor of Germany still tried to establish a dialogue with Russia?

These, whom you named, are definitely not authorities. Well, what is, for example, Obama? His merits are clearly exaggerated, except that he broke out of the ghetto, which is really something new for America. It was lucky that he was there before Clinton or Romna - the Bilderberg club simply put the president in the chair, because he is controlled, narcissistic, and close-minded. After all, here in America people do not vote, as in Russia, but special machines.

Well, not far away - he graduated from Harvard.

Harvard is not an indicator. Navalny studied there with Gaidar, and what were the results? One cannot collect signatures, the other serves the fascists. I studied at MGIMO. And then — he studied with Andrey Kozyrev, and he turned out to be a national traitor. So Harvard is absolutely not a guarantee of quality. Did he suddenly play basketball well? Where are his vaunted planes, tanks, ships, missiles, satellites, marines? It turns out that Obama did business in Europe, and he hid to the side and behind the door. Here in the USA, people say more simply, he is a jerk. By the way, many people in America think so. As for Merkel, Vladimir Vladimirovich still explained to her in Brisbane. Merkel is a grumpy old woman who wanted to swallow more than she could. No matter who you take in Europe, these are pitiful caricatures of political figures, venal clowns and cowardly scoundrels, mostly.

Vitaliy Ivanovich, it seems that the tribunal will still be created, despite Russia's veto in the Council of Ministers. How will Russia react?

So let them create what they want. And we are carrying out Putin's order - we will not take a step back, but only forward. Let them now think of themselves in Israel, in America - we have our own methods, our own tools. War is war, all methods are good for it - more than once Europe was flooded with blood because of its rash decisions and mistakes. Many of your statements are surprisingly bold — aren't you afraid of anything?

I am a diplomat. I represent a nuclear state. I present the great Putin, the savior of Russia. Who and what will make me? At least I can dance on the round table in the meeting hall, or they will spit on someone in the Security Council. And what? Everyone should know their place. And whoever sends Boeings to us is to blame for what happens to them later. It's time to figure it out.
