In the Moscow region, an experimental military transport plane Il-112B crashed. This was reported to RBC by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which is part of Rostec.

"During a training flight, an Il-112B light military transport aircraft crashed near the Kubinka airfield in the forest. The details of the incident are being clarified," the message says.

The press service noted that a commission will be created to find out the causes of the accident. The UAC clarified that the aircraft was piloted by Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov, the crew also included test pilot 1st class Dmitry Komarov and flight engineer test 1st class Nikolai Khludeev.

"The fate of the crew is currently unknown. Rescue work is underway," the UAC reported.

Rostec has informed RBC that the state corporation will create an internal commission with the involvement of specialists from aircraft engineering research institutes and factories to investigate the causes of the Il-112B plane crash that crashed during a training flight in Kubinka near Moscow. The interlocutor in the corporation specified that this aircraft is experimental and is in the testing stage.

A source in the defense-industrial complex told RIA Novosti that the plane crashed during test flights. This information was confirmed by "Interfax", referring to an informed source. "The plane took off from the Kubinka airfield and crashed. There were three people on board," said the interlocutor of the agency, adding that, according to preliminary data, they died.

"There was a three-man crew on board. Their fate is revealed. According to preliminary data, the plane caught fire when it hit the ground," a source in the emergency services told TASS. A source in the medical services told the agency that there were no survivors as a result of the plane crash.

According to a video recorded by an eyewitness to the accident, one of the aircraft's engines caught fire during the flight. The pilot, judging by the shots, began to land; however, the plane turned 90 degrees, after which it fell into the forest massif.

Il-112B is a new generation Russian light transport aircraft manufactured at the Voronezh Aviation Plant. Designed to replace An-24 and An-26 aircraft. It is planned to produce modifications for military transport and commercial aviation. The aircraft is a twin-engine turboprop monoplane with a high straight wing. In order to counteract damage by homing missiles and radar heads, the military transport modification will be equipped with an on-board defense complex developed on the basis of the Vitebsk and President-C personal defense systems of aviation produced by Radioelectronic Technologies Concern JSC (KRET).
