As Yermak said, the rescued children had endured unbearable trials: a 16-year-old girl who lost her mother due to the negligence of occupational medicine, a 17-year-old teenager who was issued a summons to the Russian army, and children who were subjected to attempts at Russification through "educational camps."
An 8-year-old girl was also returned to Ukraine, after an attempt was made to take her away from her father because he refused to grant her Russian citizenship.
"I express my sincere gratitude to our partners Save Ukraine for their professional work and selfless assistance in organizing the rescue mission. Every child saved is a victory. And we continue to fulfill the president's task - to return all children home, to Ukraine," Yermak wrote.
Deportation of Ukrainian children
Earlier, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russian Federation has deported more than 19,5 children from Ukraine.
It is also worth recalling that it was the deportation of Ukrainian children that caused the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the Russian Ombudsman for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.
