"Volunteers managed to return six children from the occupied left bank of the region. These are two girls and four boys, aged from 8 to 16," Prokudin said.
Among the returnees is one foster family, which is raising a girl deprived of parental care. Together with her, her adult brother was evacuated.
"Thanks to the rescue operation conducted by the Save Ukraine organization, children can forget about the horrors they experienced. In particular, about how they were forced to attend so-called "Russian schools", which have more to do with enemy propaganda than education," the head of the OVA said.
According to him, since the beginning of the year, 224 children from the Kherson region have been evacuated from the occupation.
Deportation and return of Ukrainian children
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russians have been deporting Ukrainian children en masse. They are exported to Belarus, the Russian Federation, and some to the occupied Crimea.
According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, Russia illegally deported more than 19 Ukrainian children.
We will remind that it was the deportation of Ukrainian children that caused the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant for the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova.
