Ukraine received $105 billion in military aid from the US

An audit of military aid received by Ukraine from Europe and the United States did not reveal any violations in its use, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with American conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro. Shapiro published the interview with an English translation on April 24, writes radiosvoboda.org.

Thus, Zelensky answered the question about the use of American military aid. The president pointed out that he was being monitored by American, European and Ukrainian inspectors. He explained this by saying that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has been trying to undermine support from Ukraine's partners with "fake news and other tools."

"That's why we said right away that we are open, send inspectors. And the inspectors were there. So, regarding the audit, we are always ready for any audit, we have nothing to hide," he said.

Zelensky thanked American taxpayers, but also noted that he has his own internal audit and “clearly understands how much aid from which country and at what point has come to Ukraine.” He did not directly deny claims that the US had transferred $200 billion in aid to Ukraine, but instead gave a different figure:

"My country clearly documents how much aid was provided. For your understanding, we received (from the US — ed.) $105 billion. Most of these funds were in the form of weapons… All these weapons arrived, funds were paid for the transportation of these weapons. Ukrainian companies were not allowed to transport them, so we did not receive — neither the state nor the private sector — money for transportation," the president said.

He added that the United States also provides Ukraine with other forms of support, including training Ukrainian soldiers abroad.

"I understand that there may be different calculations, different assistance programs, but it's like an audit. You check what was allocated, and we check what came in. Because we need to save face in our relations with key partners," he noted.

Zelensky also assured that all the provided weapons were used on the battlefield, which was also confirmed by monitoring. In addition, he noted that the US receives information from Ukraine about the use of their weapons in real combat conditions.

In February, Zelenskyy said that American aid accounts for about 30% of weapons and equipment on the front.
