The latest British tranche to Ukraine is the second of three planned payments totaling £2,26 billion. The first was made on March 6 and amounted to £752 million.

The remaining funds are planned to be paid in 2026.

"The world is changing before our eyes, reshaped by global instability, in particular Russian aggression in Ukraine," commented British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves.

Recall that in 2024, the G7 agreed to jointly provide Ukraine with a $50 billion loan from Russian assets: the funds will be provided formally as a loan, but will be repaid from the proceeds from frozen Russian assets.

At the end of December 2024, Ukraine received the first tranche of the planned $20 billion American contribution from the United States, and in January 2025, the first 3 billion euros from the EU.
