Ukraine is increasing exports and imports, the State Customs Service

Ukraine's foreign trade amounted to $25,8 billion in the first quarter of 2023, which is 7% less than in the same period of 2022. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service, writes liga.net.

In January, the decrease in turnover amounted to 35% compared to January 2022, in the first two months of the year - 30%.

In the first quarter, Ukraine imported goods worth $15,5 billion, and exported $10,3 billion.

The countries from which the most goods were imported to Ukraine: China — $2,6 billion, Poland — $1,6 billion, and Germany — $1,1 billion.

Ukraine exported the most to Poland — $1,5 billion, China — $1 billion, Romania — $997 million.

In the total volumes imported in January-March 2023, 71% of goods were: machines, equipment and transport ($4,4 billion), fuel and energy products ($3,6 billion), products of the chemical industry ($2,8 billion).

The top three goods exported from Ukraine include: food products ($6,7 billion), metals and their products ($929 million), machines, equipment and transport ($812 million).

  • On April 7, 2023, Ukraine resumed electricity exports after a six-month break.
  • On April 14, the State Statistics Service confirmed that Ukraine increased imports of goods in the first two months of the year.
  • On April 18, Ukraine managed to unblock the transit of agricultural products through Poland.
