Defense Minister Jana Chernokhova said that the Czech initiative to supply ammunition is ongoing. According to her, 400 units of large-caliber ammunition will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of April.
The Czech Republic has so far invested 1 billion Czech crowns in this initiative.
"I will not give more information because military intelligence is an agency that has some regime issues that I will not speak about publicly," the minister said.
According to the publication, thanks to the Czech initiative on ammunition, Russia's artillery advantage has been reduced by 500 percent.
Initiative of the Czech Republic
As a reminder, last year, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that his country had identified 800 shells that could be purchased for Ukraine. The head of state specified that the shells could be delivered within a few weeks, but funding was needed for this.
Already in June 2024, the Czech Republic reported that the first batch of artillery shells purchased on its initiative had arrived in Ukraine.
In general, it recently became known that the Czech Republic, as part of its initiative, will be able to provide Ukraine with the same amount of ammunition this year as in 2024, namely 1,5 million units.
