The enterprise in the American city of Mesquite, Texas, will produce about 30 155 mm artillery shells every month, writes The New York Times.
"These guns are crucial for Ukraine's needs. Last year, the Pentagon set a goal of producing 100 shells per month by the end of 2025. The factories in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, together produce about 36 shells per month," the message said.

William Laplante, the official in charge of procurement at the Pentagon, said that the US has provided Kyiv with more than 3 million 155 mm shells since the start of the full-scale war.
The Mesquite plant will provide about 350 jobs when it reaches full capacity next year.
After reaching full capacity, the new General Dynamics plant in Mesquite will produce 30 shells per month.
The $500 million-plus facility was funded through additional spending for fiscal years 2022 and 2023 and includes advanced manufacturing technology and automation to produce large-caliber metal parts.
