According to the general director of Rheinmetall Armin Papperger, they want to start the plant in Ukraine in 2024. In particular, the company expects that they will conclude an agreement with Ukraine on the production of Fuchs armored personnel carriers and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles by the beginning of 2024.

"Once the contract is signed, we want to finish the first Fuchs within six to seven months and the first Lynx within 12 to 13 months," Papperger said.

He noted that the company plans to produce Fuchs in Ukraine from the end of summer 2024. As for the infantry fighting vehicle, we will have to wait a little. Until the summer of 2025. At the same time, we are not talking about the production of Panther tanks yet.

It is worth noting that in October of this year JSC "Ukrainian Defense Industry" and the Rheinmetall concern registered a joint venture - LLC "Rheinmetal - Ukrainian Defense Industry". It should help with the local production of equipment, maintenance and repair of Western weapons.

Joint venture

We will remind that the Federal Antimonopoly Office of Germany allowed Rheinmetall to create a joint venture with Ukraine at the end of September.

It was reported that the company will be based in Kyiv.

It is important to note that Rheinmetall actively helps Ukraine in the war against Russia by supplying ammunition and various equipment.

In particular, the concern recently received a new order for artillery shells for Ukraine.
