According to the publication, the Bundeswehr will hold large-scale exercises in Hamburg this September. They will focus on the rapid transfer of allied troops in the event of a potential war with Russia.
It is noted that Hamburg is a port city, and because of this, it will play a very important role as a logistics center for transferring Allied forces to the eastern borders of Europe.
The maneuvers, called Red Storm Bravo, will begin on September 25 and are scheduled to last three days, day and night. The military will practice moving troops through the city, organizing medical care, and evacuating the wounded.
Why is Hamburg important?
Hamburg is an important logistics hub for NATO due to its strategic location in northern Germany, close to important sea routes and borders with Scandinavian and Eastern European countries.
The city has one of the largest ports in Europe, ensuring efficient transportation of cargo, including military materials, across the Baltic Sea. This makes Hamburg a key hub for the transfer of NATO forces to countries that may be under threat of aggression, as well as for rapid response to crisis situations.
With its well-developed infrastructure, including ports, airports and rail links, Hamburg plays an important role in ensuring the operational mobility of the alliance. In the event of a conflict, the city could become a major hub for logistics and supply of military forces on the eastern front, making it important for ensuring the rapid delivery of equipment, weapons and other resources. This allows NATO to quickly strengthen its positions in Europe in the event of a threat from Russia or other aggressors.
Putin is preparing for war with NATO
It is worth recalling that a new report by the Bundeswehr states that the Russian authorities are most likely preparing for a large-scale war against NATO. In particular, that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is ready to use force to achieve his goals.
But Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has said that Russia could launch a new attack in just a few years. In his opinion, Lithuania has four to five years to prepare.
At the same time, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budris stated that the intelligence community of NATO countries has concluded that Russia is a long-term military threat to the Alliance, and therefore to all North Atlantic security, including the United States.
