Trump suddenly “wins World War III”: October’s geopolitical drama, changes for Ukraine and the world

Pyrrhic victories or a new scenario for the planet? How one president's decision transformed the balance of military power

October 2025. Within months of returning to the White House, Donald Trump has unexpectedly become a major figure on the global stage.1 A dramatic series of geopolitical events — the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities (Fordo, Isfahan, Natanz), the neutralization of the Assad regime in Syria, the new format of the Israel-Hamas peace agreements, and Putin's "great isolation" — all of this has dramatically changed the balance of world power.

Once and the world order changed: a description of the “collapse of the old scenario”

In August, during a visit to Alaska, Trump publicly displayed a B-2 bomber aimed at Putin and the Kremlin.
— In less than two months, he began bombing Iran and pushed the Middle East into a new format of negotiations.
— Iran's nuclear potential has been "cut off", the regime in Syria has been shaken, and Russia has been left without its main allies in the region.
— Putin was forced to cancel an Arab summit in Moscow due to a boycott; at the same time, Trump gathered dozens of leaders from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia for talks in Egypt.1
— There is a new coalition in Washington - on Trump's side are the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, Pakistan, as well as the presidents of France, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, and Indonesia.

How did this affect Ukraine and Eastern Europe?

— After the Israel-Hamas peace agreement and the bombing of Iran, Trump invited Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House for a “first strategic meeting.”
— The main message: Washington is ready to raise the stakes — selling Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, the prospect of closing the skies over western Ukraine by NATO forces.
— Trump openly raises the question of secondary sanctions against Russia, of blocking "shadow" energy shipments from Russia to Europe through the Baltics, as well as the possibility of striking key military targets - the Engels-2 air base, the Shahed plants in Yelabuga, and the Kerch Bridge.

Why is this a blow to Putin's ideology?

— The strike on Iranian nuclear facilities destroyed the axis between Russia, Iran, and Syria.
— Russia is losing its right to vote in Middle Eastern issues, Arab countries are not appearing in Moscow, but instead are participating in the "Trump" summit.
— China is also taking a hit: Indonesia is leaning towards a strategic partnership with the US through joining the Abraham Accords.
— Trump is delivering a message: a world of ideological warfare is a “global conflict for the future,” in which the West must win both economically and militarily.

Military scenarios: what reforms are proposed for Ukraine?

— The US can deliver Tomahawks, as well as expand the military assistance package for deep strikes on the Russian rear.
— The creation of a “coalition of the willing” with NATO is being discussed — like a no-fly zone over the western part of the country.
— The Senate and Congress are working on legislation regarding secondary sanctions, which will deal a blow to Russia's global economy.
— Logistics “from the outside world” — increased support for the Baltic countries, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia to protect energy and transport infrastructure.

Global consequences: why is “instant victory” just the beginning?

— Tomahawks for Ukraine are a direct signal to the Russian Federation: “nothing is out of reach for a strike.”
— The new identity of Western countries in these processes is from defensive to offensive.
— China and Russia are rethinking isolation scenarios, responding with information campaigns, reducing exports, and reorienting themselves towards the “third world.”
— Ideological competition is becoming a “global trend” for the coming years: standards of democracy, technological development, defense partnerships — everything is subordinated to this great game.

Conclusions: Is Trump a player in the new order or an author of chaos?

In 2025, the world found itself at a crossroads: an “instant victory” in Trump’s field is a chance for the West to restart its strategy of supporting Ukraine, isolate Russia, and reformat approaches to the Middle East.
At the same time, the risk of a new arms race, regional destabilization, and the emergence of “shadow players” all leave many unpredictable risks for the world.
Will the momentary victory become the foundation of the future, or just another round of global instability?
