NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet with United States congressmen to discuss support for Ukraine. As reported the "European truth," he said on Monday during a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

"Tomorrow I will meet with members of Congress. And of course, I look forward to the opportunity to discuss many issues with them, including Ukraine," said the Secretary General.

According to him, he is sure that all NATO members, in particular the United States, will continue to provide support to Ukraine, as this is in the interests of the Alliance's security.

"Putin's victory will be a tragedy for Ukrainians, but it will also make the world more dangerous and all of us more vulnerable. This will encourage other authoritarian leaders — not only (Russian President) Putin, but also North Korea, Iran and China — to use force. Today it is Ukraine, tomorrow it could be Taiwan," Stoltenberg noted.

He emphasized that it is in the interests of NATO countries to ensure the victory of Ukraine as a sovereign, independent state, and the help of weapons allowed Kyiv to have great achievements, causing losses to the Russian armed forces and pushing the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation to the east, so now Ukraine can export grain and other goods by sea.

"We should not underestimate the achievements that Ukrainians have already achieved. And if we want to end this war, the only way to end it is to convince Putin that he will not win on the battlefield, and the only way to achieve this is to provide Ukraine with weapons from the United States and other allies and partners," Stoltenberg summarized.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the situation with the suspension of US aid supplies to Ukraine has already affected the battlefield in a certain way.

Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba reiterated his confidence that the US Congress will approve additional funding for Ukraine despite the disagreement between representatives of the two parties on the issue of migration.

Before that, the USA stated the need to make a decision on aid to Ukraine as soon as possible, since the next few months will be critical.

According to media reports, key aides to US President Joe Biden warned at a closed session in Congress that without the approval of additional military aid to Ukraine at the front, significant difficulties are possible for Ukrainian troops.
