Chinese President Xi Jinping said that he supports the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis through negotiations during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, state media reported on Friday, after Moscow launched an invasion of the neighboring country, which he writes with reference to space war.

In reading the call of the state television company CCTV system He noted that "the situation in eastern Ukraine has undergone rapid changes... (and) China supports Russia and Ukraine in solving the problem through negotiations."

Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launching airstrikes and sending troops deep into the country after weeks of diplomatic efforts failed to dissuade Putin from launching a military operation.

Beijing has taken a cautious diplomatic stance on the crisis and has refused to call it an "invasion" or condemn the actions of Russia, its close ally.

You said during a telephone conversation with Putin that it is important to "reject the mentality of the Cold War, attach importance and respect the reasonable security interests of all countries, and form a balanced, effective and stable European security mechanism through negotiations."

According to Chinese media, Putin outlined the reasons why Russia launched a "special military operation" and told Xi that NATO and the United States had "for a long time ignored Russia's reasonable security concerns."

He also told Xi on the phone that Russia is ready to hold "high-level" negotiations with Ukraine.

As the crisis worsened, China was forced to balance its close ties with Russia with large economic interests in Europe.

And Moscow's approach contrasts sharply with China's long-standing foreign policy position of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

Xi said that China is "ready to work with all parties in the international community to uphold a common, comprehensive, joint and sustainable concept of security and firmly defend the international system based on the United Nations," according to CCTV.
