The States want Greece to transfer Patriot batteries to Ukraine

The US government is pressuring Greece to transfer a Patriot air defense battery currently in Saudi Arabia to Ukraine, the Greek portal Kathimerini reports, slovoidilo.ua.

According to journalists, the American administration at two different levels asked Athens to transfer systems used to protect Saudi Arabia to Ukraine.

Greece is in no hurry to transfer the Patriot to a third party, as it plans to integrate the battery into its air defense system upon its return from Saudi Arabia.

The US is expected to hold additional talks with Athens on this issue soon.

Recall, President Volodymyr Zelensky recently stated that Ukraine is ready to find the money and buy ten Patriot air defense systems for $15 billion. Donald Trump responded to Kyiv's request very vaguely.

It was also reported that Ukraine is developing its own strategic-level air defense system.
