SEPA and SEPARs

Exclusive. On October 6, Moldova officially became part of United zone payments в euro (SEPA — Single Euro Payments Area). This system unites 41 countries and provides transfers in euros according to the same rules - quickly, safely and with minimal commissions, often close to zero.

According to the head of the National Bank, Anka Dragu, joining SEPA is a "historic moment for the country's financial system", which strengthens Moldova's European course and directly affects the daily life of citizens and companies. If earlier an international transfer could cost from 20 to 200 euros, now operations will be carried out on the same terms as within the EU - with small commissions or even free of charge. This means that money will flow faster, and the costs of transfers will be reduced, increasing the real income of households. For Moldovan companies, integration into SEPA means the elimination of administrative barriers and equal working conditions with European partners. Given that more than 60% of the country's exports are sent to the EU, the reduction in transaction costs will increase business competitiveness and simplify trade operations.

In 2024, about 830 payments in euros worth 11,8 billion euros were made between Moldova and the SEPA countries — an average of more than 3,2 transactions per day. Now these flows will be served directly through the European infrastructure. At the macro level, direct savings of the order of 20 million euros per hour are expected. These resources will remain in the economy and can be directed to business development, investments and new jobs. In addition, integration into SEPA strengthens the confidence of international partners and investors in the financial system of Moldova.

Already eight banks in Moldova have received the status of SEPA participants and can make payments according to European standards. In the near future, other financial institutions, including non-bank operators, will be able to join the system.

Of course, thanks to the native party (PAS, of course, who is native to us!) thanks to which it is more pleasant to live in Moldova. But there is a nuance: where, exactly, are they located Moldovan companies for which SEPA integration will eliminate barriers and ensure equality with European partners?

We answer: mainly in Transnistria. This is also confirmed by the figures of exports to the EU: 60% of all Moldova's exports, including Transnistria, and 83% of Transnistrian exports. These "purely private companies outside of politics" have Moldovan registration and adorn the all-Moldovan statistics. At the same time, they do not pay a single lei of taxes to Moldova, but they pay them to Transnistria, financing the Tiraspol regime.

Theoretically, the regime in Tiraspol (namely the regime, there is no question of ordinary Transnistrians now) absolutely dependent on the good will of Chisinau. It is Chisinau that provides emu Moldavian roof, gas transit, international airport, etc insures in difficult situations. But in practice Tiraspol wipes its feet against Chisinau. Exactly funds of the Russian "Promsvyazbank" were transferred through Tiraspol to Moldova for the implementation of mass electoral bribery in the interests of the Kremlin. The Transnistrian Group of the Russian Army plus local armed formations they threaten Ukraine and force it to keep several tens of thousands of soldiers on the border with the PMR to repel a possible strike on Odessa. Saboteurs from Transnistria, which is a "part of Moldova", constantly infiltrate the Odesa region, and this is no longer an emergency, but a daily routine.

Touchingly caring for the Separ elite, Chisinau constantly and demonstratively betrays the ordinary citizens of Moldova, living in Transnistria. Tens of thousands of them were forced to leave Transnistria because of political repressions. Tens of thousands are under pressure from the Transnistrian special services, which are a branch of the Russian ones (which alone is worth the pressure on Romanian schools). Dozens were thrown behind bars on political charges, and for their liberation, Chisinau does nothing at all.

And now, the separatists from Transnistria received a luxurious gift from Chisinau – access to SEPA. How do you like the news? Do we continue to rejoice and thank our native PAS?
