Addressing the results of the C5+1 ministerial meeting in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, which took place on February 28, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken emphasized the solidarity of the United States with the peoples and governments of Central Asia.

In the joint statement of Blinken and the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, published on Thursday, it is noted that "a peaceful and prosperous Central Asia requires constant commitment to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries by observing the UN Charter and its principles." .

The participants of the ministerial meeting emphasized that the economic security of Central Asia remains a strategic priority of the C5+1 and discussed how to mitigate the negative consequences of recent international events, especially in the area of ​​energy and food prices.

C5+1 representatives highly appreciated the current energy programs in the region, including the USAID program, which supports the national and regional priorities of Central Asian countries in the field of energy security through the reform of the liberalization of national markets, the development of clean energy and the reduction of methane emissions.

C5+1 participants emphasized the importance of regional decisions confirming their commitment to the protection of human rights, noted the need to increase efforts to expand the economic opportunities of women throughout the region.

They also welcomed the US-Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework (TIFA), which promotes regional, public-private dialogue in support of women's economic empowerment in Central Asia.
