24.02.2023The FATF International Anti-Money Laundering Group on Friday, February 24, completely suspended Russia's membership in the organization. This was reported by European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis on Twitter, he writes epravda.com.ua.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova
We welcome the FATF's decision to completely suspend Russia's membership. Russia's actions unacceptably contradict the basic principles of the FATF aimed at promoting safety, security and integrity of the world system," the tweet says.
According to the results of the meeting, which lasted from February 22 to 24, the FATF stated that the ongoing and intensifying aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine contradicts the FATF principles of promoting the safety and integrity of the global financial system and obligations for international cooperation and mutual respect. Today, the FATF plenary session suspended the membership of the Russian Federation.
After the statement from March 2022, the FATF again emphasized that all jurisdictions should be vigilant about current and new risks of circumvention of measures taken against the Russian Federation with the aim of protecting the international financial system.
We remind you:
In October 2022, the FATF International Anti-Money Laundering Group introduced new restrictions against Russia, namely, limiting its ability to participate in the work of the organization and prohibiting participation in regional groups as a FATF member.
The National Bank appealed to the International Anti-Money Laundering Group (FATF) with an appeal to exclude the Russian Federation from among the member countries and to blacklist the Group.
