Rivne inventors have patented a poncho for the military that hides from thermal imaging

Rivne residents have developed a heat-reflective poncho, writes dev.ua.

The poncho was tested in daylight at a distance of up to 50 meters with a crowd of people.

"The test showed a positive result," noted Serhii Smalyuk, co-founder of the Privid project.

In addition, the developers turned to the military and tested the poncho in field conditions.

According to the teacher-instructor of the training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign "Hmel", the camouflage cape was tested with a passive and active infrared device with illumination in the field and it "really works".

"It is probably better to use (the poncho) when moving in the field and on the forest strip where you need to quickly provide camouflage," Khmel noted.

In addition, the cape protects against water and wind, and can also serve as a tent. The poncho weighs 1,5 kg. Its cost is up to UAH 7500.

A poncho will come in handy for scouts.

Residents of Rivne received an order from the military for 100 units of camouflage capes.
