This is a great convenience for people who do not have time to prepare their meals after training, because, for example, they go to work immediately after work, and the refusal of food will mean the loss of developed muscle tissue and a significant drop in muscle mass.

Of course, the best choice would be a complete meal consisting of proteins and carbohydrates, but if the athlete does not have such an opportunity, an energy bar enriched with vitamins can be a great solution.

What instead of protein bars?

Energy gels can also be used instead of bars. Thanks to them, you can replenish glucose reserves and saturate the body. They are very useful in providing the athlete with energy even during exercise. Gels use it, among other things, cyclists during a long trip. Gels, like bars, contain carbohydrates that quickly add energy, as well as minerals and vitamins that support the normal functioning of the body - for example, vitamin C, which is responsible for immunity and the protection of blood vessels.

Of course, the bars can be replaced with a high-protein meal, which should include fish or turkey meat, among other things. Also, the athlete can eat vegetable protein, for example, soy. Such food includes useful carbohydrates, for example, cereals or whole grain bread. Vegetables and fruits, rich in vitamins and minerals, which must be replenished after intense physical exertion, will also be indispensable.
