Our identity, national idea, unifying image of all Ukrainians has always been and is, there is no need to invent it separately, - This is Kyiv.. Not only Kyiv as the capital, but eternal Kyiv on the Dnieper. Happy holiday, Ukrainians!
On a hill above the big River, a gray-haired Grandfather sleeps. He has been asleep for a long time. From time to time, he is nudged in the side, he wakes up, opens his huge eyes under his shaggy eyebrows and asks sleepily: "What?" Something is shouted cheerfully and noisily into his deaf ear, and when he wakes up, he says: "Who are you?" The noise gets even louder.
Then Grandfather lowers his eyes, looks at Rika and rather than asking, greets her: “Oh, you’re here too.” And then he adds: “What do they want?” Rika cheerfully responds: “They’re wishing you a happy birthday,” and laughs. Grandfather turns to the other side and goes back to sleep, saying: “That’s good.”
Happy Birthday, Kiev! Happy Birthday, Grandpa! It is futile to count the age of something that has always been, is, and will be, because it has neither beginning nor end.
