An electronic barrier, i.e. a system of cameras and motion sensors, will be installed on 199 kilometers of the border. It will cover the entire land border with Russia, with the exception of the section of the Vistula Spit, where the border has been guarded by electronic devices for several years.

In this way, Poland will have complete monitoring of what is happening on the border with the aggressor country, says the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The spokeswoman of the Polish Border Service, Lieutenant Anna Michalska, emphasized that the barrier will be divided into 12 functional sections. About 2000 video surveillance towers, 3000 video cameras and 700 kilometers of power, transmission and signal cables will be installed on them.

According to her, construction work has begun in the area of border posts in Bezledy and Sempopol, and consists in pouring the foundation of pillars for surveillance cameras and laying power and transmission cables.

More than $83 million has been allocated for the construction of the barrier.
