"Taking into account the growing burden on Poland due to the Russian Federation's prolonged invasion of Ukraine, Japan will offer its assistance. Toki usually provides assistance to developing countries, which Poland is no longer a part of, but the Japanese government makes a special exception," Kishida said.
He also emphasized that for like-minded countries, such as Japan and Poland, it is extremely important to remain united in their support for Ukraine and the further introduction of sanctions against Russia.
According to the Japanese Prime Minister, his country is interested in establishing closer ties with regional alliances in Central and Eastern Europe, such as the Visegrad Group, which includes Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, as well as with countries participating in the economic initiative "Three of the sea".
As a reminder, on March 21, the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, visited Ukraine. He already managed to visit Buche and held negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky.
Also, the Japanese Prime Minister said that Tokyo will allocate 30 million dollars for the purchase of non-lethal weapons for Ukraine.
