The first batch of liquefied natural gas as part of regular deliveries arrived from the USA to Germany on Tuesday.

The deliveries are carried out as part of a large-scale effort to help the country find a replacement for the energy carriers that were previously supplied from Russia.

The tanker Maria Energy arrived in the port of Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea, where the liquefied gas will be converted back into a gaseous state at a special floating terminal opened in December by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Germany began to urgently look for a replacement for Russian gas after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
