The volume of export licenses for military equipment issued by the German government in the first half of 2024 amounted to at least 7,48 billion euros, the vast majority of which was intended for Ukraine. This is stated in the answer of the Ministry of Economy of Germany to the request of the member of the Bundestag from the ultra-left party "Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW)" Sevim Dagdelen, reports European Truth with reference to the DPA agency.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

According to official data, from January 1 to June 18, the German government approved the supply of military goods abroad worth at least 7,48 billion euros. Of these, weapons accounted for 5,52 billion euros, and other military equipment accounted for 1,96 billion euros.

The total figure is 30% higher than the value of weapons exported in the first half of 2023. At the same time, almost two-thirds of exports — 65%, or 4,88 billion euros — are intended for Ukraine.

The top five recipients of German weapons also include Singapore (€1,21 billion), India (€153,75 million), Saudi Arabia (€132,48 million — the first in a long time) and Qatar (€100 million).

Last year, German arms exports reached an all-time high, amounting to 12,2 billion euros, of which 4,4 billion euros went to arms supplies to Ukraine.

After the first three months of 2024, Germany approved arms exports to Ukraine worth 3,54 billion euros.
