Germany wants to allocate 5 billion euros to help Ukraine every year, Minister of Finance Christian Lindner said, Ukrinform reports. radiosvoboda.org.

During his visit to Kyiv, he said that Germany had already developed a program for annual financing of aid to Ukraine. But in order for it to enter into force, such an initiative still needs to be approved by the German parliament.

Lindner assured that Germany will continue to support Ukraine "as much as necessary". According to him, Germany has already provided Ukraine with EUR 22 billion in financial support, including EUR 12 billion in military aid.

The German official also signed a declaration of intentions to strengthen cooperation between the countries with his Ukrainian colleague Serhiy Marchenko.

The signed document provides that Germany will provide advisory assistance to Ukraine in the areas of customs policy, monitoring of financial markets, management of state investments and privatization of state-owned enterprises.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner paid a visit to Kyiv on Monday. He also met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
