"We have everything planned according to the project, which consists in training Ukrainian pilots, training service personnel and handing over real planes," she said.
According to the Minister of Defense, Ukrainian soldiers are currently undergoing training in Denmark, the USA and other countries. Already in the summer, Denmark will have to deliver the first planes to Ukraine, if nothing prevents it.
"And we hope to participate in deliveries from the fall with our F-16s. So after the summer and beyond, they will be transferred to Ukraine in batches," said Kaisa Ollongren.
F-16 deliveries to Ukraine from the Netherlands
The Netherlands decided to transfer a batch of fighter jets to Ukraine last year, during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In February, it became known that the Netherlands plans to prepare six additional F-16 fighters for Ukraine. In total, the Armed Forces will receive 24 boards.
Already in April, Ollongren announced that the first deliveries of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine should begin already this year.
