NATO views Russia as a "long-term threat," Rutte said
25.04.2025NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the European allies of the USA are united in the opinion that Russia is a "long-term threat". This is reported RBC-Ukraine with reference to CNN.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte
"All of us in NATO agree that Russia represents a long-term threat to the NATO territory, the entire Euro-Atlantic territory," Rutte said after his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
He also touched on the topic of NATO spending, since Trump has long been fixated on the fact that European countries do not contribute the required 2% of their GDP to defense, and said that the requirement should be higher. Rutte agreed with this, saying that "it should be much higher than these famous 2%".
"Obviously, with 2%, we will not be able to protect the territory of NATO," added the head of the Alliance.
Russia and NATO
We will remind you that last week British fighters "intercepted" Russian planes twice. They were located in the immediate vicinity of the NATO borders.
We also wrote that according to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian authorities are launching a large-scale propaganda campaign to convince their population of the need for a "big war" with NATO.
