The organization told the agency that the media representatives "are subject to the same requirements as neutral athletes."

This year, Russian and Belarusian athletes can compete at the Olympics in a neutral status and only in individual sports. They must perform without the country's symbols on their uniforms, not be military personnel, and not support the war against Ukraine in their social networks.

The Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) has warned Russian athletes who agree to perform in a neutral status about a possible violation of Russian laws. "As for individual athletes who, as before, are ready to accept humiliating criteria for possible participation in the Games, even for them, the IOC is making every effort to minimize the number of invitees," the organization said.

In mid-October 2023, the IOC suspended the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) until further notice due to the inclusion of sports organizations from the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine.

According to the decision of the IOC, the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation does not have the right to act as a national Olympic committee. The OKR was also deprived of the right to receive funding from the international Olympic movement.
