The Ministry of Defense will order Ukrainian Oplot tanks for the Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will order Oplot tanks from Ukroboronprom for the Ukrainian army. This was announced during a visit to the Kharkiv region by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, transmits Ukrinform with reference to the MoU.

"I am convinced that a Ukrainian tank, such as the Oplot BM, should be in the first ranks of the tank coalition. There must be an armored fist at the front, because the most important value is the preservation of the lives of our defenders. So that they can protect us, so that they do not lose their health, they need armored vehicles. I love the cuisine and music of different peoples of the world, but in industry I remain an industrial Ukrainian protectionist. That is why it was decided that the MoU will order Oploty from Ukroboronprom for the Ukrainian army," the minister said.

As reported in the press service, he conducted testing of the Oplot tank.

As part of the visit, the Minister awarded awards to employees of several Ukroboronprom enterprises for their contribution to Ukraine's defense capability. According to him, Ukroboronprom is a reliable partner on the way to victory.

"Ukraine survived the first months of the full-scale invasion thanks to the heroism of the Security and Defense Forces, as well as the continuous work of the Ukroboronprom enterprises. After all, Ukraine began to receive the first samples of heavy Western weapons only at the end of last spring. Our task, together with partner countries, is to ensure a constant increase in the production and repair of all types of weapons and military equipment, and every day we, the state defense-industrial complex, together with the Ministry of Defense, do everything possible to bring our Victory closer," said the Director General Yuriy Gusev of Ukroboronprom.

The minister also had a working meeting with the head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Sinegubov, who emphasized that the support of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Strategic Industries and Ukroboronprom is very important for the region.

"The defenders, who are currently on the defense line of Kharkiv Oblast, confidently hold their positions every day and strike back at the enemy. We help our military both humanitarianally and with the necessary equipment. We are doing everything to bring Victory closer," Sinegubov said.

BM "Oplot" is a modern Ukrainian main battle tank, developed by the Kharkiv Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering.
