New Zealand will provide Ukraine with military and humanitarian aid worth $9,8 million. This was announced on Wednesday, July 10, in a Facebook post by the ambassador of Ukraine to Australia and New Zealand, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, referring to the statement of the head of the country's government.

"On the sidelines of the NATO summit in the city of Washington, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Lacson announced that the government of his country will provide 16 million New Zealand dollars (9,8 million US dollars) in aid to Ukraine, of which six million New Zealand dollars (3,68 million dollars US) for military aid and NZ$10 million (US$6,12 million) for humanitarian aid, he said.

According to Myroshnichenko, the military aid involves the allocation of four million New Zealand dollars (US$2,45 million) to the "Drone Coalition" led by Great Britain and Latvia. Another two million New Zealand dollars (US$1,23 million) will be allocated for Ukraine's military medical needs.

According to a message on the website of the New Zealand government, the new package will increase the total cost of aid that New Zealand has pledged to provide to Ukraine over 2,5 years to more than 130 million New Zealand dollars (79,6 million US dollars).

"New Zealand understands that although we are far from Ukraine, what happens there affects all of us, and we are ready to support Ukraine in the long term," said the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Winston Peters.
