Future US-Ukrainian investment fund will be able to invest in infrastructure

The future joint investment fund of Ukraine and the United States will have the right to invest in both the development of mineral deposits and infrastructure projects. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, reports epravda.com.ua with reference to Ukrinform.

"This fund, as a financial instrument, will have the privileged right to invest in a wide range of objects in Ukraine, as soon as there are opportunities for this."

"First of all, we are talking about minerals, but we are also interested in American investments in infrastructure: road, port, energy," Kachka noted.

At the same time, he emphasizes that the agreement will not force Ukraine to transfer objects to this fund.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has published the text of a memorandum with the United States on the completion of a formal agreement on economic partnership and an investment fund for reconstruction.

A new stage of negotiations on subsoil will begin in the US on April 24, and technical issues and wording regarding the operation of the future investment fund are currently being worked out.
