The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense has allocated 10 million euros for the production of modern Ukrainian long-range weapons.
This is the first tranche under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Kyiv and Vilnius in December 2024.
According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Ukrainian weapons manufactured thanks to this support are already working effectively on the front line — enhancing the range, accuracy, and firepower of the Defense Forces.
Ukraine, together with Lithuanian partners, is working on the next stage — another tranche of 10 million euros, which will allow expanding production and further strengthening defense capabilities.
Umerov called such cooperation a strategic investment in the strength of Ukraine, its independence, and the security of all of Europe.
"I am sincerely grateful to the government and people of Lithuania for their strong support, strategic vision, and real contribution to our victory," he noted.
Aid to Ukraine from Lithuania
Recall, in March we reported that Lithuania continues to invest in the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and intends to purchase weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth at least 20 million euros.
In mid-January, Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakaliene announced that Ukraine would receive thousands of drones from Lithuania worth 5 million euros.
Also earlier, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called for providing Ukraine with modern weapons and long-range strike capabilities.
