During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Margarita Simonyan asked the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, about the possibility of recognizing him as a country of the Donbas republics. пишет BBC Russian service.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

"If the right of nations to self-determination is realized, then instead of 193 states, more than 500-600 countries will appear on Earth. It will be chaos. For this reason, we do not recognize Taiwan, Kosovo, South Ossetia, or Abkhazia. The same principle will be applied to quasi-state territories, which, in our opinion, are Donetsk and Luhansk," Tokaev answered.

Tokayev also stated that Kazakhstan does not object to Ukraine's admission to the EU.

Putin said the same thing: "Economic integration is their choice." According to him, Moscow is only against Kyiv joining military alliances. Earlier today, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov answered this question not so clearly, saying that there was a significant military component in the activities of the EU.

Putin also refused to answer the question about when Russia will carry out its threat to start striking Ukrainian decision-making centers.

"As for the red tench, let me leave it to myself. From our side, this will mean tough actions on decision-making centers, which I have already talked about. But this is an area that should be left to the decision of the military-political leadership of the country first of all. And people who deserve actions of this level must, of course, draw a conclusion for themselves, what they can face if they cross this line. And strikes on residential areas are, of course, a crime against humanity," Putin said.

Russian officials constantly deny that the Russian army is shelling and bombing residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, despite numerous evidence to the contrary.
