In the northern part of the European Union, which has so far been particularly heavily dependent on pipeline gas from Russia, by the end of 2022 the commissioning of the infrastructure for the reception of liquefied gas has accelerated dramatically.

In January, the number of new LNG terminals should increase to 5

On December 28, the regasification vessel Exemplar, chartered jointly by Finland and Estonia, docked in the Inkoo port near Helsinki. On December 21, the first LNG terminal in Germany in Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea began injecting fuel into Germany's gas transportation system. On the same day, the second regasification vessel in Lubmyna on the Baltic received the permission to start work in a test mode on German territory — and the first in East Germany.

If we add to this the floating complex in Emshaven in the Netherlands, which was solemnly opened on September 8, then the EU received four new LNG terminals in four months - two in the North Sea and two in the Baltic Sea.
