The video of the meeting between Johnson and Zelensky with his team was published by the president's press office. The video shows that the politician was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, and the head of the President's Office, Andrey Yermak.
During the meeting, Johnson said that he had visited the settlements in the Kyiv region, where hostilities were taking place, and had seen the consequences of the occupation and shelling. As the former prime minister said, the strikes "are still ongoing", and he will do everything to help Ukraine within the limits of his capabilities.
The former Prime Minister of Great Britain was remembered as one of the most ardent partners and allies of Kyiv. He provided significant military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and supported many initiatives aimed at countering Russian aggression — in particular, sanctions.
Johnson left the post of prime minister in early July. However, the politician did not change his position regarding the war and continued to insist on the importance of helping Ukraine.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko awarded Johnson the honorary title of citizen of the capital on January 18.
As part of the economic forum in Davos, Johnson urged not to believe Putin's nuclear threats and to focus on giving Ukraine the tools that will ensure victory.
