Dimitriy Sydor is abroad again – and the trial drags on for years. Where is the limit of patience, Judge Demetradze?
21.11.2025 0 By Writer.NSExclusiveWhile a full-scale war is ongoing in Ukraine, and thousands of people cannot travel abroad even in critical life situations, the person involved in the high-profile criminal proceedings for separatism — Archpriest of the Mukachevo Eparchy of the UOC (MP) Dimitriy Sydor — is calmly traveling through Europe.

📌 On November 18, 2025, Sydor was in Slovakia, where he spoke at the international conference "Monasticism in Subcarpathian Rus" at the University of Prešov.
📌 And this is at a time when a legal process is underway in Ukraine, in which his actions have been viewed as a threat to territorial integrity for many years.
Moreover, in his speech, Sidor again voiced a whole set of Ruthenian-separatist theses, familiar from the manuals of Russian special services:
– about “Carpatho-Russian statehood”,
– about the “national Ruthenian church”,
– about the “historical separateness of Ruthenians from Ukrainians”,
– about “autonomy, which was allegedly destroyed by the Ukrainian authorities.”
All of these are classic elements of the Russian Federation's hybrid operation, which is trying to play the "Ruthenian card" to create a new center of tension in Transcarpathia.
❗️November 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. — a regular hearing in the Sydor case will be held. The case will be considered by Judge Tamaz Demetradze.
❓The question that worries many today is: how long will this process last?
❓How long will the court allow a person with such accusations and reputation to freely travel abroad and spread separatist propaganda?
Against the backdrop of war, such situations look not just strange, but suspicious — they are dangerous.
At a time when it is difficult for ordinary men to even arrange a trip for treatment, Sidor — a man who has been promoting autonomist and pro-Russian narratives for years — speaks unhindered in neighboring countries.

🔥What do we have now?
— Sydor is again voicing messages that completely coincide with Russian IPSOs.
— Again creates the myth of "Ruthenian statehood" and "a separate church nation."
— Again questions Ukrainian jurisdiction over Transcarpathia.
— And he is doing it again abroad, where his theses can be used in anti-Ukrainian campaigns.
❗️Mr. Judge Demetradze, how much longer will justice wait in line?
When a state is at war, every public appearance with separatist elements is a stab in the back.
But can a situation be considered adequate when a defendant in such a case has the opportunity to travel abroad and continue dangerous activities while a Ukrainian court cannot put an end to it for years?
