The Foreign Ministers of Germany and Lithuania arrived in Kyiv for a visit
01.04.2025 0 By Writer.NSGerman Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kyiv on April 1 for an unannounced visit, the German Foreign Ministry reported, writes radiosvoboda.org.

Annalena Burbock, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany
"In light of the impasse in US-Russia relations, it is extremely important that we Europeans show that we support Ukraine without any 'ifs' or 'buts', and that we support it now more than ever. This is one of the reasons for my visit to Ukraine today," the ministry quoted Burbock as saying.
The head of German diplomacy emphasized that it is the Ukrainians who want peace the most, and Ukraine is ready for an immediate ceasefire. At the same time, according to her, Putin is stalling for time, imitating readiness for negotiations, but not giving up on his goals.
This is Burbock's ninth trip to Ukraine as foreign minister since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022. The visit will likely be his last in this position, as negotiations continue in Germany on a new coalition government after the February elections.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstusis Budris also arrived in the Ukrainian capital. He wrote about this on the social network X.
"I have arrived in free Kyiv to express Lithuania's unwavering support for the brave Ukrainian people. We will continue to stand by your side in your struggle for freedom and sovereignty. Lithuania supports a strong, stable and prosperous Ukraine in the EU. Together to victory!" Budris wrote.
