Czech Republic invests $107 million in Ukrainian hospitals

The Czech Republic, within the framework of the Ukraine Facility program, is investing 100 million euros ($107 million) in the renovation of hospitals. Financing for six projects has already been agreed. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with a link to the Facebook page of the Head of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Viktor Lyashko.

"The Czech Republic, within the framework of the Ukraine Facility program, is potentially ready to take on the financing of the modernization of 13 hospitals in 7 regions of Ukraine. To date, financing of 6 projects for a total amount of over 100 million euros has been preliminarily agreed," Lyashko wrote.

Among the institutions that will receive funding:

  • Lviv Regional Hospital for War Veterans and Victims of Repression named after Yuriy Lypa — 35,27 million euros ($38,07 million);
  • Rivne Regional Hospital for War Veterans — 18,9 million euros (million dollars);
  • Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital — 4,31 million euros ($20,4 million);
  • Kryvyi Rih City Hospital No. 5 — 16,57 million euros ($17,89 million);
  • City Clinical Hospital No. 16 in Dnipro — 14,93 million euros ($16,12 million);
  • Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital — 10,27 million euros ($11,09 million).

Aid to Ukraine during the war

The Ukraine Facility is a financial instrument of the European Union (EU) aimed at supporting Ukraine in the context of a full-scale war, as well as post-war reconstruction.

The program provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros in the period from 2024 to 2027, which will be directed towards macro-financial assistance, reconstruction, reforms and modernization of the country.

As reported yesterday, April 1, by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine, within the framework of the Ukraine Facility, received an aid tranche of 3,5 billion euros ($3,79 billion).
