After massive shelling of the Russian Federation, Britain sends hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine

British Defense Minister Grant Shapps, after massive Russian shelling of Ukraine on the night of Friday, December 29, announced the dispatch of "hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles" to Kyiv for British air defense systems. Shapps posted his statement on Twitter (X), reported the "European truth".

The head of the British Ministry of Defense called the latest wave of strikes by the Russian Federation "a desperate and futile attempt to restore momentum after the catastrophic loss of hundreds of thousands of conscripts" and on the eve of Putin's humiliation due to the beginning of the third year of his "three-day war".

"We continue to stand in defense of Ukraine. That is why today we are sending hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles to replenish British air defense systems capable of shooting down Russian drones and missiles with incredible accuracy," he announced.

Shapps emphasized that Putin is wrong to "hope that he will be able to pull victory out of the mouth of defeat."

"Ukraine's blowing up of the Russian Black Sea Fleet proved that Ukraine is still fighting for victory in this struggle. And today's air defense package sends an undeniable signal against the backdrop of Russian barbarism that Great Britain remains absolutely committed to supporting Ukraine," the minister added.

On the night of December 29, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia and other cities came under attack. According to the latest data, at least 26 people died, more than 120 were injured.

A number of European countries condemned the shelling.

Against this background, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, discussed the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine and military priorities for 2024 with top EU diplomat Josep Borrell.
