Australia and New Zealand announce new sanctions against Russia
24.02.2025Australia and New Zealand have imposed new sanctions against Russia and its allies on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, writes radiosvoboda.org.

The Australian government has added Russian Deputy Defense Ministers Anna Tsivilova, Pavel Fradkov, Viktor Goremykin, and Andrey Bulyga to the "blacklist." The sanctions also include Secretary of the Russian State Council Alexei Dyumin and Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.
In total, sanctions have been imposed against 70 Russian citizens and 79 Russian entities, including Rosspivrobrodnitstvo, Rosgvardia, and military enterprises.
Also on the updated "black list" are high-ranking officials of the Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus and the armed forces of North Korea.
New Zealand has announced sanctions against 52 Russian citizens and entities. The list, updated on February 21, includes the mother of the head of Chechnya, Aimana Kadyrov, who heads the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, several Russian strategic aviation pilots, the gas company Novatek, the military enterprise Vector, and others.
Several North Korean military officials connected to the deployment of this country's troops on Russian territory to participate in the invasion of Ukraine are also included in the New Zealand "blacklist".
